Designer Babies PBL: More Mechanics

The Designer Babies PBL combines technology with critical thinking.  Once kids have posted their blog and are familiar with loading content, it is time to help refine the project.  My kids will collect videos, slideshows, images, news articles, etc. and use their Blog to organize their materials.  Next I will give kids some questions to consider.
1. What is a 'designer baby?'
2. What is a 'savior sibling?'
3. Why do parents seek genetic counseling?
4.  Identify forms of reproductive technology.
5.  What is preimplantation genetic diagnosis?
6.  What motivates parents to seek specific traits for their baby?
7.  Would you chose your baby's traits?

We will continue to explore and discuss these topics in class.  I want them to write editorials on their blog as they explore this controversial topic.
