Time permitting, the Biology Co-op class is going to dissect owl pellets. You do NOT need expensive equipment for an owl pellet dissection—just the pellets. Here is the bone-sorting chart we use. Use disposable, paper plates and toothpicks. Make a list of the prey located in the owl pellets as a group. There are about $5 each; the larger pellets usually have more heads, which are easier to identify.
