Let’s make up a birthday present! Pack up a few basic supplies. Kids love to mix solutions. I add a reaction plate (plastic, paint palette) , dropper bottle, a few chemicals, craft sticks, etc, in a plastic container. Plastic coffee containers work well, too. Buy these at Dollartree. My advice is to buy materials and divide them into extra kits. Make this your standard, birthday present for younger kiddos. Below are kid-friendly ideas for experiments to use in the kit.
1. Make DIY Bath Color Drops. Too much mess? Buy color tablets and do Colour Mixing Science. Kiddos love test tube sets, too. My advice is to divide these materials into multiple kits. Use the fizzy tablets to make a Lava Lamp.
2. Make Elephant’s toothpaste.
3. Customize your kit: Chemical Baggie Experiment and Bath Bomb use citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch, and Epsom salts. Make Fizzy Drink. Another favorite is Film Canister Rockets. What about Pop Rocks Expander? Be sure to send the links to Mom or print the experiments for the kit.
