In Biology classes, it’s traditionally to sketch slides. Why? Sketching slides forces students to examine features closely. Apologia’s Advanced Biology class (Human Anatomy) requires several histology experiments, in which students sketch slides. Below are the required slides.
Amazon sells Amscope brand slide sets. Many of the required microscope slides are in these two sets. I would buy a used microscope and set of 25 slides. Sketch the remaining slides from Digital Histology.
Below are used slide sets at Good Will online. Regardless of your budget, sketch slides! Be sure to sketch slides at different magnifications. Use colored pencils! Make this a lab!
