Wild Science Camp: Thursday
Herb Peddicord, a forester talked to the kids and led a nature hike. The kids took The egg carton scavenger hunts they made Wednesday outside. We broke the kids into stations again: Roto copter (which spin like a maple seed), Trae's Boy Scout survival talk, Hannah's photo canvas Art (Just for fun. The kids used scrapbook paper, paint and stickers to make canvas panel art.), Bernie's rock and gem talk with specimens, Marianna's birdfeeders (cardboard squares coated in Crisco and rolled into bird seed), Eric's toad abode (clay pots painted), Marie's station, Bug Bingo, and Herb's nature walk. My husband went outside with the groups on their nature hike, leaving the teens to prepare and serve snack. There are eight or nine adults and a dozen teens. Today, our numbers were down a bit. The logistics were smoother. The kids danced together after Snack. Fun! We keep adding verses to Pizza Hut and sang the shark song. Smooth sailing!
