Module 5 has DNA and a little about enzymes. This particular module is packed! I like Dr. Wile's jello experiment--but it's more of a demonstration. You may want to use this POGIL activity: Enzymes and Cellular Regulation. If your students are sharp, try a POGIL exercise. Ignore their groans! POGIL is like CERs; they make kids think!
While we're discussing cell processes, Photosynthesis and Respiration is another POGIL exercise. I use these sparingly--perhaps once every other month. POGIL is widely used in Honors classes. Tell your kids that. Flatter them! It might make these exercises more palatable!
