Our family likes to tour unusual sites when we travel, such as the National Atomic Testing Museum. ( In fact there are all kinds of interesting museums and parks around Las Vegas. We don’t gamble and the line for tickets to the Motown show were just too long.) For example, we toured Électrium in Quebec. We’ve also visited several dams, such as the Conowingo Dam. Have you tried the BMW Plant in Spartanburg, S.C.? How about a Fish Hatchery? Usually, places like a fish hatchery are free. Some tours are just promotions for the store. For example we stopped at Bob’s RedMill store; there was no tour. The store was still fun! The price was right! Visit Route 11 Potato Chips for their chips—not the tour. We tried the Redpath Sugar Museum thinking it might be more industrial. It wasn’t. Start at a locale nearby and schedule a tour!
