Summer Science: Logs

Our little household likes science. Here is an excellent guide and introduction to backyard habitats.  Do you keep logs?  Cornell has eBird life lists.  Here are Spotting Sheets.  Try using guides such as this Wisconsin Wildlife Survey, this Alaskan Wildlife Survey, or this overview of wildlife surveys.  The lists do not have to be fancy.  Note the date and location for each siting.  Take a photo with your phone when you spot a turtle or egret outside.  Let your child take the lead.  If you have a budding naturalist, let her identify backyard projects to try.
