We have software coders in our family. What can you do to see if your child would like to learn how to code? Here are ‘unplugged’ ideas to help kids understand coding: Binary Bracelets, Pre-school Coding Activities, and Coding a LEGO Maze. Here are more unplugged lessons, such as Move it! Move it! If you have teens, consider trying An Hour of Code; there are many apps on the site with simple instructions. Khan Academy has its own Hour of Code. This site has more structured lessons. You might want to start learning html. Look at Free Code Camp, Khan Academy HTML Basics, See if you can make your own website. Way back in the year 2000, my son made a classroom website for me with html which was easy for me to edit assignments. He added a dragon I never figured out how to remove. At the time I was just happy to have a place for parents to check homework assignments, deadlines, and upcoming tests. If your teen or pre-teen is interested, let them try to do some coding,
