Mad Science Camp: Anatomy Academy

Update: Good Will online has CPR kits.  Ask a nurse or EMT friend if you could do a FaceTime or Zoom CPR class for camp.

Good Will online has an Anatomy lot priced fairly.  The charts make excellent props for Camp.  Where should you begin?  Are you doing a combination of School and Camp this summer?  Take a look at Human Anatomy. I used Human Anatomy with a Co-op class of kids ages 6-11.  We used both the Junior and Elementary Notebooking Journals.  We added fun activities to the projects and Try-this activities.  Copy, cut, and assemble a Paper Skeleton.  Make brain hats.  Trace blood through heart and lungs.  Make fake blood.  Color Your Own Digestive System Organs aprons.  Build clay anatomy models.  Plan field trips to the local Rescue Squad and Fire Department when you are out of Quarantine.  Ask for demonstrations with a stretcher and CPR or First Aide instruction.  Do a Zoom conference with a nurse.  Ask her to demonstrate a complete nursing assessment or teach you how to use a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.  Look at these resources from Home Science Tools. Want some fun?  Make Martha Stewart’s Pasta Skeletons and Skull Jewelry.  Your kids are going to have a blast!
