Mad Science Camp: Color Changing Carnations

Our little household likes any experiment.  Today's experiment is Coloring Changing Carnations.  We do not have Color Changing Carnations; however, we do have light pink pipe cleaners.  The colored water rises in the pipe cleaner or stem of a carnation through capillary action.  If you try this experiment with pipe cleaners, the results are almost immediate.  Try the experiment with celery, too.  Take a look!
