Next is Lab Equipment. Lastly is a lesson on the microscope. Module 1 has a step by step Microscope Experiment. The Biology Corner has a Microscope Introductory Lab with the University of Delaware’s Virtual Microscope. I do have several light microscopes. Actually we use digital microscopes with a laptop. The microscopes usually work with Thinkpads or Chromebooks—but, not always. Kids need to learn the names of the parts of a light microscope. My classes use the digital microscope, focuses the slides, takes a screen shot, and then sketches the slide. Be sure to Quiz your kids on the names of the parts of the microscope.
