Apologia Young Explorers Zoology 1: Make connections to Scouts

Paul, nine, is in Cub Scouts.  There is some overlap with some of the Zoology projects and activities and the Cub Scout badge, Into the Wild.  One badge activity is bird watching; this activity dovetails well with he life list activity in Zoology 1.  Paul is working on Lesson 6, Bats, which are keystone species.  Another badge requirement is about ecosystems.  My plan is to show Paul how to do a food web which features bats in the our backyard ecosystem to comply with a badge requirement for food chains, producers, consumers, and decomposers.  Here is a photo of the food web.
