Animal and Plant Cell Models

I think models are useful, especially for Biology and Anatomy classes.  In Biology, I assign animal and plant cell model projects with keys.  Here are instructions for making models.  I recommend using clay for the base model and adding small beams, thread, pasta shapes, etc.  Candy is fine; however, I do not like jello or cake models which ooze or crumble.  Long experience assigning models indicates that kids learn the organelles well by making models.  Here is a decent paper model.  Use high resolution images as the basis for the models.  Right now, Paul, ten, is making his first model.  His model isn’t finished.  Paul will make the animal model and finally keys for both clay models.
