Did you know Thingaverse has a pattern for 3D Frog Dissection? It takes forever to print. Here is a free paper dissection. Here is a felt dissected frog. There’s even a synthetic frog to dissect. I used this kit to prepare for dissection with one of my squeamish Bio classes. If you have to chose one dissection, pick the frog. Have all of your kids participate. Here is a guide, lesson, and diagram to label from HST. Apologia Biology has instructions for the frog dissection, too. The frog specimen is large enough it’s easy to pick out and identify organs. Before you dissect, watch this PBS video. The support materials include lessons, guides, and quizzes. One quiz is actually a lab practical; kids identify frog organs. As a family, go all in and come up with a project as the assessment. Can you make a dissected frog with polymer clay? Would you like make a booklet with sketches and labeled diagrams? Create a felt frog kit to dissect? Maybe your family wants to curate several good frog resources for your Co-op? If your budget only allows for one dissection, do it well. No apologies.
